Welcome to the preparation process for children (and their families) preparing to celebrate the Sacraments of Reconciliation and the Eucharist for the first time!
Children’s preparation to celebrate the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist for the first time begins in the home. It is the family that plays the most important role in communicating the Christian and human values that form the foundation for a child’s understanding of these Sacraments. It is the parents’ right and responsibility to prepare their children to celebrate Reconciliation and the Eucharist for the first time. It is absolutely essential that parents participate with their children at weekly Sunday Mass, to experience the Eucharistic mystery in an initial way so they can gradually learn to join with their community of faith in prayer.
At CPARL the preparation process for receiving the Sacraments of Reconciliation and the Eucharist for the first time is a 2-year process for ALL families. It is open to families with children beginning in Grade 1.
